Hello, welcome to WiththeGrainWoodwork.com!  My name is John Frach and I’m sort of a jack of all trades, I’m a stay-at-home Dad, I build the projects, take the pictures, write the posts, manage the website, and take care of our newly purchased farm.

I bet you want to know why I’m doing this, and what this is all about, right? Well I started woodworking in 2015. I began posting pictures and videos to my Instagram. I’ll pause here so you can click my handle and give me a follow, @withthegrain9. It’s okay, I’ll wait.

Thanks for clicking, welcome back. It all started as something fun and relaxing to do in my spare time, in the garage. The more I posted and the more I engaged, the more followers I gained. I was also gaining knowledge from the woodworking community on Instagram. It was really pushing me to improve my skills. I started taking on bigger projects and more challenging projects.

So why write a blog? I’ve never really been the type to be able to write all that well. I can tell you a story that is so descriptive that you will stop me and say, “get to the point”, just ask my wife!

Well the blog is somewhere for me to talk about my woodworking, being a stay-at-home Dad, and taking care of our 3 acre farm. We just bought this house, and I will have DIY projects, landscaping, fun stories of my kids on the farm, and of course, woodworking.

I’ll still post the pretty pictures on Instagram. But here you can get a full story of the build, or the sunrise, or whatever it may be. I will also be venturing into the world of YouTube. There is this really cool pole barn that is going to be my new shop. I included a picture on this post. I want to do a series of videos setting up the shop, build videos and much, much more.
